LJ is a prime example of a life restored through KCCS.

From graduating years at York University to being the Director of Worship and The Creative Arts at Kingdom Covenant Center; I am a prime example of God ability to transform lives. As a young child I was brought up in a well-rounded Christian home and was taught the importance of having and maintaining a godly lifestyle. However, around the age of 16 I allowed ungodly influenced which were contrary to what I was taught to impact my life.

I begin to listen to and mediate on violent and immoral Hip Hop and Rap music; this type of music taught me HATE, how to undermine authority and the many different way of disrespecting women. Due to the fact that most of these artist professes their beliefs in the teaching of Islam, I began to question the power and the abilities of the true and living God.

After altering my belief system with this kind of music, I began to associate myself with groups of this kind; which, in addition, were often involved with crimes. In association with these groups, a downhill lifestyle followed, which lead to my arrest to which I had to serve a term of 90 hours community service. Around that time, my family decided to change church, due to a lack of challenge. We then started to attend KCC (Kingdom Covenant Center) formally known as Deeper Life Ministries. It was in attending KCC I became informed of the Court Intervention Program provided by KCCS; this program allowed me to complete my allocated community Service sentence though the church.

During my Community Service in the summer of 1996, I met with my senior pastor (Dr. Pat Francis) who took me in as a son and mentored me spiritually. She taught me important lessons of life, which helped to shape me into the person I am today.

I know now that the love of music will always be a part of me; however, as a developed and much more mature adult, I’ve now learnt to appreciate music with positive influence.

As the Music Director of KCC, I now spend my days meditating on postive music, worshipping, mentoring and impacting the lives of other young people.
